ABSTRACT
This research addresses the flow characteristics within a porous medium composed of monolayer closely packed spheres, spanning from viscous-dominated to turbulent regimes. In first part this paper, at 30 MPa pressure drop domain are presented. The results averaged across different cross sections between inlet and outlet. second study, simulations conducted with drops, ranging nearly 0 100 MPa. analysis finds distinct patterns provides estimations for permeability inertial term coefficient. Moreover, transition Darcy non-Darcy is achieved through use criteria. specified geometry suitable validating calibrating simplified discrete element method models coupled computational fluid dynamics. main goal produce reliable benchmark figure out challenge limited experimental data concerning in densely granules specially subjected high conditions. To do this, representative specimens designed, accurate conducted, precise assessments carried out.
