ABSTRACT
The effect of scene complexity on colour constancy was tested with a novel technique in which virtual image real 3-D test object projected into scene. Observers made discriminations between illuminant and material changes simple complex scenes. extent achieved varied little either structure or test-object colour, suggesting dominant role local cues determining surface-colour judgments.
