ABSTRACT
In current design practice, the shear wave velocity (Vs) of core and rock-fill zone a dam, one characteristics essential for seismic response design, is seldom determined by field tests. This because borehole method often restricted in application, due to stabilisation activities concern security dam structure, surface methods are limited unfavourable in-situ site conditions. Consequently, may be performed using Vs values that assumed, or empirically determined. To estimate zone, find reliable measuring Vs, have been applied on crest sloping existing 'M' dam. Numerical analysis was also verify applicability Through this numerical comparison with other test results, dams verified.
