ABSTRACT
The Origin Recognition Complex (ORC) is a six-subunit protein important for the initiation of DNA replication in eukaryotic cells. Orc6 smallest and least conserved among ORC subunits. It required but also has function cytokinesis metazoan species, however, mechanisms action these processes are not clear. Here we report structure middle domain human Orc6. This an overall fold similar to corresponding helical transcription factor TFIIB. Based on findings, model binding produced. We have identified amino acids which directly involved binding. Alterations abolish ability result reduced levels vitro cultured Our data indicate that one subunits species. propose may participate positioning at origins role TFIIB preinitiation complex promoter.
