ABSTRACT
Significance Inducing the growth of new blood vessels by specific factors is an attractive strategy to restore flow in ischemic tissues. Vascular endothelial factor (VEGF) master regulator angiogenesis, yet clinical trials VEGF gene delivery failed. Major challenges include need control tissue distribution dose and duration expression. Here, we developed a highly tunable fibrin-based platform precisely protein Optimized fibrin-bound ensured normal, stable, functional angiogenesis improved perfusion tissues, without genetic modification with limited delivery. These findings suggest improve both safety efficacy therapeutic angiogenesis.
