ABSTRACT
Significance In the bulk phase, hydroxyl radical from one-electron transfer and high-valent iron-oxo species O-atom compete to be reactive intermediates in Fenton related reactions. confined space at a nanoscale, however, behavior of reaction is elusive. Herein, we report an unprecedented singlet oxygen mediated Fenton’s occurred inside carbon nanotube with inner diameter ∼7 nm, showing exotic catalytic activities, unforeseen adsorption-dependent selectivity, pH stability for oxidation organic compounds. Our results suggest use more scenarios than ever explored.
