ABSTRACT
Many bacteria swim in liquid or swarm on surface using the flagellum rotated by a motor driven specific ion flow. The consists of rotor and stator, stator converts energy flow to mechanical rotation. However, pathway mechanism rotation coupled with are still obscure. Here, we determined structures sodium-driven Vibrio , namely PomAB, presence absence sodium ions structure its inhibitor, phenamil, cryo-electron microscopy. following functional analysis revealed pathway, selectivity, inhibition phenamil. We propose model based structures. This work provides insights into molecular mechanisms specificity conversion electrochemical potential functions.
