ABSTRACT
A culture method has been developed in which erythroid colonies are produced vitro from hemopoietic cells the livers of 13-day fetuses C3H(f)/Bi mice. Heme synthesis by cultures was correlated with presence these colonies, and hemoglobin shown to be electrophoretically normal. The individual were identified as since they erythropoietin-dependent, positively stained histochemical "Lepehne" procedure for hemoglobin, labeled (59)Fe radioautography. Evidence is presented that development under separate control granulocytic found same cultures.
