ABSTRACT
The nucleotide sequence of a tRNA Lys (UUU) gene on tobacco ( Nicotiana tabacum ) chloroplast DNA has been determined. This is located 215 base pairs upstream from the for 32,000-dalton thylakoid membrane protein same strand and 2526-base-pair intron in anticodon loop. boundary does not follow G-U/A-G rule but similar to those split genes Gly (UCC) ribosomal proteins L2 S12. contains one major open reading frame 509 codons. codon usage resembles observed so far analyzed. primary transcript this 2.7 kilobases long.
