ABSTRACT
PURPOSE. To describe an unusually large and long-standing hydatid cyst of the orbit causing gross disfigurement eyeball. METHODS. Detailed investigations, consisting radiological hematological studies, were carried out to determine cause severe proptosis. The patient underwent orbital exploration for presumed diagnosis echinococcosis.The entire with globe was removed sent histopathological examination. RESULTS. findings specimen surgically confirmed cyst. CONCLUSION. should be considered in unilateral proptosis long duration walls.
