ABSTRACT
ABSTRACTPhosphorus (P) is one of the 17 essential plant nutrients, and it critical for metabolism, photosynthesis, growth. P fertilizers are also crop production global food security. Type application method fertilizer may lead to increased accumulation in Ganges delta soils. The aim present study increase use efficiency (PUE) by two different methods maize cultivation. experiment comprised a factorial combination (broadcasting furrow placement) three rates (36, 48, 60 kg P/ha). Considering methods, placement gave 8.66–27.92% yield benefit over broadcasting method. Maize yield, PUE plant, partial factor productivity, economic efficiency, concentration leaf were remarkably higher than conventional application. exhibited at lower rate (36 48 P/ha), while no significant changes observed grain between high (60 kg/ha). Thus, concluded that 36 kg/ha would give best floodplain soils.KEYWORDS: tidal soilmaize yieldP methodphosphorous AcknowledgementsThe authors thankful kind help from members Patuakhali Science Technology University, Soil Resources Development Institute, Bangladesh, Mawlana Bhashani during field sampling laboratory facilities.Disclosure statementNo potential conflict interest was reported author(s).Correction StatementThis article has been republished with minor changes.
