ABSTRACT
The ever-changing nature of online learning foregrounds the limits separating research from design. In this article, we take difficulty making generalizable conclusions about designed environments as a core challenge studying educational psychology environments. We argue that both and design can independently produce empirically derived knowledge, examine some configurations allow us to simultaneously invent study revisit design-based (DBR) methods their epistemology, discuss how they contribute various types usable knowledge. Rather than compromising objectivity, for researchers acknowledge intent and, in so doing, promote ways which not only better interventions but also transform people systems.
