ABSTRACT
This study determined retention by children of drug delivery device technique between visits. Patients had asthma requiring the daily use at least one medication device. Seventy-two patients completed study; 24 used only metered dose inhaler (MDI) (group 1), while 48 MDI and 1 other 2). or caregivers were initially instructed on demonstrated correct their device(s). At next visit, they for each follow-up, 36% correctly performed all components MDI. Group (50%) was higher than group 2 (29%). The percent group1 (84) also (78) but not significantly. For both groups devices, breathing out before inhalation breath holding problematic. reinforces need to demonstrate observe devices clinic visit.
