ABSTRACT
Background: Alcohol consumption in the U.S. is a public health problem that has been exacerbated by COVID-19 pandemic. Relatedly, many states have responded to relaxing their alcohol laws, making it possible for adults delivered homes. This study sought understand impact of allowing home delivery on self-reported adult US. Methods: In May 2020, we surveyed convenience sample over 21 years age recruited through social media and listservs. Eight hundred thirty-two participants completed online survey: 84% were female, 85% White, 72% between ages 26 49. Results: Twenty-one percent who consumed past month had at least some delivered, with 60% having from liquor stores, restaurants, or bars. The remainder purchased in-person owned pre-COVID-19. Participants reported also consuming more drinks ( β = 13.3; 95% CI [8.2, 18.4]; p < .000) drinking days 5.0; [2.9, 7.0]; than obtained other methods. nearly two times likely report engaging binge those methods OR 1.96; [1.3, 3.1]; .003). Conclusions: Obtaining was associated greater including drinking. As consider permanently delivery, important potential implications.
