ABSTRACT
This paper reported antibacterial hydroxypropyl chitosan (HPCS)/organic rectorite (OREC)-based nanofibrous mats with intercalated structure fabricated via solution intercalation method and electrospinning. Field emission scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectra, Energy-dispersive spectroscopy, photoelectron inhibition zone surrounding circular disks measurement were performed to characterize the morphology, structure, elements analysis, properties of as-spun mats. The results showed that better fiber shape addition OREC, polymer chains successfully into interlayer containing HPCS exhibited good activities against Gram-negative bacteria Escherichia coli Gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus. In addition, bacterial ability was enhanced when OREC added.
