ABSTRACT
3D stratigraphic geometries of the intracratonic Meso- Cenozoic Paris Basin were obtained by sequence correlations around 1 100 wells (well-logs). The basin records major tectonic events western part Eurasian Plate, i.e. opening and closure Tethys Atlantic. From earlier Triassic to Late Jurassic, was a broad subsiding area in an extensional framework, with larger size than present-day basin. During Aalenian time, subsidence pattern changes drastically (early stage central Atlantic opening). Further steps Ligurian (base Het- tangian, late Pliensbachian;...) its evolution into oceanic domain (passive margin, Callovian) are equally recorded tectono-sedimentary history. Lower Cretaceous characterized NE-SW compressive medium wavelength unconformities (late Cimmerian-Jurassic/Cretaceous boundary intra- Berriasian Aptian unconformities) coeval Bay Biscay. These contemporaneous decrease rate. After period (Albian Turanian), compression started Turanian time folding during Cretaceous. Tertiary very low com- pressional framework. second occurred from Lutetian Oligocene (N-S compression) partly E-W extension rifts. early Burdigalian Miocene response shortening.
