ABSTRACT
Objective: Management of personal leaves represents an important component diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. This study aims to understand the ways in which both training directors fellows neuropsychology programs understand, perceive, communicate about, plan for during fellowship training. We also aim provide empirically based recommendations communicating with about leaves. Method: Training (N = 40) postdoctoral 51) were recruited complete surveys examining their knowledge perspectives on through a professional listserv. Results: While most reported that offer paid leave options, substantial minority did not. There discrepancies between directors' fellows' policies perceptions implications taking leave, such less greater perception may have negative impact. Conclusions: Findings suggest should clearly institutional early in, or even before start of, period work cultivate culture openness around broad issues work-life balance specific related trainees.
