ABSTRACT
Research addressing conflict and migration has made great strides in explaining the relationship between violence migration. However, it commonly lacks individual-level data on exposure to war. We use survey from 2018 Vietnam Health Aging Study examine associations war-related during American War wartime migrations of northern Vietnamese war survivors. Using multilevel mixed-effects count models, we investigate three groups factors influencing migration-war-related events, economic circumstances, demographic life course factors-to explore migration, inclusive deployments, moves, displacements. Our findings indicate that effects exposure, socioeconomic status, characteristics diverge for different types These findings, framed within historical context, suggest need thoughtfully delineate both exposures traditional causes understand diverse mobility occurring periods armed conflict.
