ABSTRACT
External impact is one of the potential hazards for in-service subsea pipelines. The stress concentration by external can create a dent that affects pipeline's ultimate bearing capacity. In this paper, theoretical model based on string-on-plastic foundation established to local indentation pressurised pipelines wedge indenter. effects internal pressure and boundary conditions denting process are investigated. With model, relationship between indenting force dented depth obtained under set two conditions. accuracy new analytical models validated comparing them with specification numerical simulation model. It believed will provide guidance maintaining reliability integrity
