ABSTRACT
Despite ongoing interest in deploying information and communication technologies (ICTs) for sustainable development, their use climate change adaptation remains understudied. Based on the integration of theory existing literature ICTs we present an analytical model conceptualizing contribution to adaptation, a framework evaluating ICT success. We apply four case studies early warning systems managing extreme events Latin American Caribbean countries. propose that can support through enabling access critical decision-making, coordinating actors building social capital. also allow communicate disseminate decision experience, thus enhancing opportunities collective learning continual improvements processes. In this way, both current potential impacts change, as well engage populations development viable strategies.
