ABSTRACT
Osteopontin (OPN) is a chemotactic protein that attracts immune cells, to inflammatory sites. The sensitization phase of allergic cutaneous contact hypersensitivity (CHS) requires the migration Langerhans cells/dendritic cells (LCs/DCs) from skin draining lymph nodes. Characterizing OPN function for LC/DC we found upregulated expression in hapten sensitized and induces migration, initiates their emigration epidermis, LCs/DCs nodes by interacting with CD44 αv integrin. Furthermore, OPN-deficient mice have significantly reduced CHS response correlates an impaired ability attract In conclusion, important factor initiation guiding into lymphatic organs.
