ABSTRACT
Fabrication and operation on increasingly smaller dimensions have been highly integrated with the development of smart functional materials, which are key to many technological innovations meet economic societal needs. Along researchers worldwide, Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) has long realized synergetic interplays between nanotechnology materials designated 'Smart & Functional Materials' as one its four major research themes. Thus far, WIN utilized properties polymers, nanoparticles, nanocomposites develop active membranes, films, adhesives, coatings, devices novel improved capabilities. In this review article, we aim highlight some recent developments subject, including our own literature, in context UN Sustainability goals.
