ABSTRACT
Abstract This study proposed an optimization method for freeform progressive addition lenses (PALs) based on the coincident degree of weight distributions (WD) power deviation and astigmatism. Compared with existing methods which were limited in optimizing WDs astigmatism, our approach offers a more refined optimization. In design phase, astigmatism these evaluated using surface shape. prescriptions patients, degrees between obtained PAL calculated multi-view axis condition. Normalization processing was performed, yielding corresponding threshold value allocated degrees. Based minimization error function model, two PALs designed, simulated, machined, commercial software. The optimized reduced peripheral improved optical properties PALs. optimizes enhances their optometry.
