ABSTRACT
Background: In China, recent rapid economic growth has been associated with increasing prevalence of childhood obesity. This study aimed to provide the most updated and trends in overweight obesity among school-age children adolescents Shanghai, 2010–2015. Methods: Annual physical examination data were collected from 66,410, 43,812, 104,887, 113,667, 119,401, 109,068 school aged 6–17 Minhang District, The outcome interest was based on body mass index (BMI) criteria International Obesity Task Force. Results: 2010–2015, age-adjusted boys increased 21.2% 31.7% 10.6% 16.9% girls. 2015, 9.3% higher than girls (3.5%). for consistently that at each age across years. highest 11 years: 37.3% 19.8% Conclusions: Chinese urban is comparable developed countries still alarmingly high. findings highlight need develop public intervention strategies targeting stop trend China.
