An Internet-Based Self-Help Treatment for Fear of Public Speaking: A Controlled Trial

ABSTRACT
This study offers data about the efficacy of "Talk to Me," an Internet-based telepsychology program for treatment fear public speaking that includes most active components in cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT) social phobia (exposure and cognitive therapies). One hundred twenty-seven participants with were randomly assigned three experimental conditions: (a) self-administered program; (b) same applied by a therapist; (c) waiting-list control group. Results showed both conditions equally efficacious. In addition, Talk Me therapist more efficacious than condition. Treatment gains maintained at 1-year follow-up. The results from this support utility Internet-delivered CBT programs order reach higher number people who could benefit CBT. also play valuable role dissemination
