ABSTRACT
To investigate the molecular events involved in pathogenesis and/or progression of thyroid tumors, we compared gene expression profiles three carcinoma cell lines, which represent major tumor subtypes cancer and normal tissue. Using cDNA array methodology, investigated 1807 open reading frame expressed sequence tags (ORESTES), selected from head neck libraries generated through Brazilian Human Cancer Project-LICR/FAPESP. We found that 505 transcripts were differentially lines. a more stringent criterion, underexpressed or overexpressed than fivefold 1 3 list 55 ESTs detected. Five candidate genes further validated by quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) an independent set 52 tumors 22 matched tissues. DCN was high percentage follicular adenomas, carcinomas, variant papillary carcinomas. DIO1 DIO2 nearly all These not only could help to better define signature for but may, part, also become useful as potential targets treatment.
