ABSTRACT
The correct morphology and migration of neurons, which is essential for the normal development nervous system, enabled by regulation their cytoskeletal elements. We reveal that Neurabin-I, a neuronal-specific F-actin–binding protein, has an function in developing forebrain. show gain loss Neurabin-I expression affect neuronal morphology, neurite outgrowth, radial differentiating cortical hippocampal suggesting tight required forebrain development. Importantly, prevents pyramidal neurons from migrating into cerebral cortex, indicating its role during early stages corticogenesis. demonstrate Rac1 activation affected levels Neurabin-I. Furthermore, Cdk5 kinase, key regulator directly phosphorylates controls association with F-actin. Mutation phosphorylation site reduces phenotypic consequences overexpression both vitro vivo, depends, at least part, on status. Together our findings provide new insight signaling pathways responsible controlled changes F-actin cytoskeleton are
