ABSTRACT
Abstract Background Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) brings symptom relief and improvement in health-related quality of life (HRQoL) the majority patients treated for symptomatic, severe stenosis. However, there is a substantial group that do not benefit from TAVI. The aim this study to investigate impact frailty on HRQoL 1 year after Methods TAVI Care & Cure Program an ongoing, prospective, observational including referred our institution. A comprehensive geriatric assessment was performed evaluate existence using Erasmus Frailty Score (EFS). assessed EQ-5D-5 L at baseline Results 239 underwent completed Seventy (29.3%) were classified as frail (EFS ≥ 3). In non-frail patients, index did change (0.71(± 0.22) 0.68(± 0.33) points, P = 0.22); decreased 0.55(±0.26) 0.44 points (±0.33) (P 0.022). independent predictor deteriorated (OR 2.24, 95% CI 1.07–4.70, 0.003). absence peripheral artery disease 0.17, 0.05–0.50, 0.001) renal dysfunction 0.13, 0.04–0.41, <0.001) associated with improved Conclusion deterioration Notably, improve no arterial or impairment baseline.
