ABSTRACT
A rare presentation to TIA clinic 76-year-old lady was referred the rapid access clinic, with a 4-week history of unsteadiness without cognitive decline.On examination she found have marked bilateral cerebellar signs.CT head showed extensive small vessel disease.The clinical deemed disproportionate CT, and for an outpatient MRI brain scan.Four days later presented acute medical take deterioration.She mute only able climb stairs on all fours.An urgent EEG were arranged, confirming suspected diagnosis sporadic Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (sCJD) (Figure 1).A recent study suggested 5% sCJD cases present signs [2].Owing decline, it is imperative that are recognised early avoid unnecessary, costly investigations, inform family members enable participation in end-of-life decisions.Furthermore, identification facilitates analysis by National CJD Surveillance Unit.
