ABSTRACT
Abstract Disease ontologies facilitate the semantic organization and representation of domain-specific knowledge. In case prostate cancer (PCa), large volumes research results clinical data have been accumulated needed to be standardized for sharing translational researches. A formal PCa-associated knowledge will essential diverse standardization, future graph extraction, deep phenotyping explainable artificial intelligence developing. this study, we constructed an updated PCa ontology (PCAO2) based on development life cycle. An online information retrieval system was designed ensure usability ontology. The PCAO2 with a subclass-based taxonomic hierarchy covers major biomedical concepts genotypic, phenotypic lifestyle data. current version contains 633 organized under three viewpoints, namely, epidemiology, diagnosis treatment. These are enriched by addition definition, synonym, relationship reference. For precision treatment, genes lifestyles integrated in viewpoint epidemiological aspects PCa. provides systematized framework studying amounts heterogeneous knowledge, which can further, edited scientific community. is freely available at https://bioportal.bioontology.org/ontologies/PCAO, http://pcaontology.net/ http://pcaontology.net/mobile/.
