ABSTRACT
To investigate the value of assessment mitral regurgitant fraction (RF) using left ventricular (LV) volumes obtained by three-dimensional echocardiography (3DE) to quantify primary regurgitation (MR).Sixty patients with MR in sinus rhythm were prospectively enrolled. RF was calculated either 2DE or 3DE LV as follows: (LV total stroke volume - forward Doppler)/LV volume. Severity graded independently two cardiologists blinded volumetric data an integrative approach, recommended current guidelines. Sixty ejection >50% and no also studied. In without MR, 3D more strongly correlated than 2D (r = 0.75, P < 0.0001 vs. r 0.62, 0.0001, respectively). The method had a feasibility 90% MR. Inter-reader concordance for grading (four grades) excellent Kappa-value 0.90, 0.0001. A significant correlation observed between grade severity 0.83, 0.0001) 0.74, 0.0001). Comparisons individual grades (P 0.05) except 3+ 4+ 0.213). All ≥40% ≥3+ those ≤30% 1+ 2+ 'grey' overlap zone 30 40%.RF can be routinely determined high is reliable identification Grade incorporation this parameter into currently multiparametric approach might helpful discriminate
