ABSTRACT
The rate of movement the maxillary canines into healed or recent extraction alveolus first premolar was measured in 22 patients aged 10-27 years. On one side dental arch, extracted. After a median time 86 days, contralateral extracted and distalization both started using Gjessing canine retraction springs. experiment ended when two had been sufficiently distalized. Recordings positions at beginning study, start end were made from casts standardized intraoral radiographs. on moved faster than that side, but also tipped somewhat more. reasons for increased tipping are discussed.
