ABSTRACT
Chlamydia psittaci is a zoonotic pathogen associated primarily with avian chlamydiosis also referred as psittacosis. Human psittacosis can lead to severe cases of respiratory disease. The mule duck one the main bird hybrids human in France. In order better understand epidemiology chlamydiosis, monitoring studies were performed both breeder flocks and flocks. Surveys conducted professional bredding organization revealed little shedding flocks, whereas heavy but asymptomatic C. was observed most mostly when birds reared open range conditions on farms. linked their progeny led detection shedders all suspected despite no showing clinical signs. Offspring infected female analyzed proved be by psittaci.
