ABSTRACT
Youth have the highest crash injury risk in New Zealand. Māori and Pacific youth an even higher risk. Highlighting promoting benefits of modal shift from cars to active public transport may increase health safety. We aimed create a discussion surrounding issues gain better understanding attitudes behaviours non-driving youth, empower our participants promote social change by making participants' opinions experiences known broader community through exhibition. engaged nine non-drivers aged 16–24 years photovoice. Through sharing their photos stories, used power visual image communicate experiences. This method is internationally recognized tool that reduces inequalities giving those who minimal decision-making opportunity share voice. By end project, it was clear were comfortable with status, noting more cost-effective, easy convenient. attitude reflects recent studies showing marked decrease licensure among young people developed countries. project uniquely prioritized Māori, Asian non-drivers.
