ABSTRACT
This study investigated the effects of Chinese cabbage by-product mixed with total ration (TMR) on in vitro rumen fermentation, growth performance and blood profile Holstein steers. For treatments were control (TMR), T1 (TMR+Chinese by-product), T2 by-product+CaO) T3 by-product+CaO+AHP). The fluid was collected from three Friesian cows buffer solution, after which buffered transferred into serum bottles containing 1 g dry matter TMR added or without treatments. All conducted triplicates analyses carried out using DMRT SAS. pH value significantly higher (P<0.001) feed AHP than other control. However, comparable gas production observed only, both T3. Consequently, concentrations among individual VFA. Since trial, results obtained between T1, used vivo trial. Thirty-four steers (273 ± 45 kg) subjected to 150 days feeding animals randomly selected equally distributed two groups, by-product). T-test Results showed that had same effect weight gain efficiency In analysis, creatinine (P=0.026) but it is within normal range while BUN (P=0.042) T1. Overall, this suggest can be as an alternative resource for beef cattle.
