ABSTRACT
The light-harvesting chlorophyll a/b-binding (LHCB) proteins are the apoproteins of complex photosystem II. In present study, we observed that downregulation any six LHCB genes resulted in abscisic acid (ABA)-insensitive phenotypes seed germination and post-germination growth, demonstrating positively involved these developmental processes response to ABA. ABA was required for full expression different members physiologically high levels enhanced expression. were shown be targets an ABA-responsive WRKY-domain transcription factor, WRKY40, which represses balance positive function LHCBs signalling. These findings revealed is inducer fine-tunes at least partly through repressing WRKY40 repressor stressful conditions co-operation with light, allows plants adapt environmental challenges.
