ABSTRACT
The Yeast Proteome Database (YPD™) has been for several years a resource organized and accessible information about the proteins of Saccharomycescerevisiae. We have now extended YPD format to create database containing complete proteome model organism Caenorhabditiselegans (WormPD™). WormPD are designed use not only by their respective research communities but also broader scientific community. In both databases, gleaned from literature is presented in consistent, user-friendly Protein Report format: single Web page presenting all available knowledge particular protein. Each begins with Title Line, concise description function that protein continually updated as curators review new literature. Properties functions tabular form upper part Report, free-text annotations topic lower part. ends comprehensive reference list whose entries linked MEDLINE abstracts. seamlessly integrated, extensive links between species. They freely academic users on WWW at http://www.proteome.com/databases/index.html , subscription corporate users.
