ABSTRACT
Sex determination in cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) plants is genetically controlled by the F and M loci. These loci interact to produce three different sexual phenotypes: gynoecious (M-F-), monoecious (M-ff), andromonoecious (mmff). Gynoecious more ethylene than do plants. We found that levels of production accumulation CS-ACS2 mRNA did not differ from those were lower measured Ethylene inhibited stamen development cucumbers but ones. Furthermore, caused substantial increases CS-ETR2, CS-ERS, plants, one. In addition, inhibitory effect on hypocotyl elongation was less results suggest responses are reduced This first evidence signals may influence product locus thus inhibit cucumber. The line provides novel material for studying function during sex flowering cucumbers.
