ABSTRACT
Abstract Acetyl-CoA is the main substrate of lipid metabolism and functions as an energy source for plant development. In cytoplasm, acetyl-CoA mainly produced by ATP-citrate lyase (ACL), which composed ACLA ACLB subunits. this study, we isolated restorer-4 (res4) thermosensitive genic male sterile mutant reversible sterile-2 (rvms-2) in Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana). RES4 encodes ACLB1, res4 harbors a point mutation (Gly584 to Arg) citryl-CoA domain. Both subunits are expressed tapetal layer anthers. regulated MS188, leads pollen with defective exine structure. res4, accumulation was significantly reduced within tapetum locules. These results indicate that synthesized ACL used sporopollenin biosynthesis tapetum. Microspore diameter smaller than wild type, indicating from supplies microspore Previous studies have shown delayed degradation tetrad wall res2 res3 provides additional protection rvms-2 microspores. The volume microspores may lessen requirement cell restore fertility. This study reveals function anther development mechanisms fertility restoration photoperiod- thermo-sensitive lines.
