ABSTRACT
The objective of this study was to investigate intestinal nutrient transporter and enzyme mRNA in broilers selected on corn- soybean-based (line A) or wheat-based B) diets. We investigated the peptide PepT1, 10 amino acid transporters (rBAT, b(o,+)AT, ATB(o,+), CAT1, CAT2, LAT1, y(+)LAT1, y(+)LAT2, B(o)AT, EAAT3), 4 sugar (SGLT1, SGLT5, GLUT5, GLUT2), a digestive (aminopeptidase N). Intestine collected at embryo d 18 20, day hatch, 1, 3, 7, 14 posthatch. abundance each gene assayed using real-time PCR absolute quantification method. For line B had greater quantities compared with A (P = 0.001), suggesting capacity for absorption acids as peptides. Levels PepT1 were greatest duodenum < 0.05), whereas abundances SGLT1, GLUT2 jejunum 0.05). Abundances EAAT3, rBAT, aminopeptidase N ileum Quantities increased linearly 0.01), LAT1 decreased 0.05) age. Abundance y(+)LAT2 changed cubically 0.002) peaks expression hatch SGLT5 quadratically 0.005) These results provide comprehensive profile temporal spatial small intestine chicks.
