ABSTRACT
Abstract Objectives To investigate health-related quality of life in patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIMs) compared those non-IIM autoimmune rheumatic diseases (AIRDs), non-rheumatic (nrAIDs) and without (controls) using Patient-Reported Outcome Measurement Information System (PROMIS) instrument data obtained from the second COVID-19 vaccination disease (COVAD-2) e-survey database. Methods Demographics, diagnosis, comorbidities, activity, treatments PROMIS were analysed. Primary outcomes Global Physical Health (GPH) Mental (GMH) scores. Factors affecting GPH GMH scores IIMs identified multivariable regression analysis. Results We analysed responses 1582 IIM, 4700 AIRD 545 nrAID 3675 controls gathered through 23 May 2022. The median lowest IIM {13 [interquartile range (IQR) 10–15] vs 13 [11–15] AIRDs 15 [13–17] nrAIDs 17 [15–18] controls, P < 0.001}. also significantly lower [13 (IQR 10–15) (13–17) 0.001]. Inclusion body myositis, active glucocorticoid use determinants scores, whereas overlap interstitial lung disease, depression, Function 10a higher Fatigue 4a associated patients. Conclusion Both physical mental health are impaired patients, particularly comorbidities increased fatigue, emphasizing importance patient-reported experiences optimized multidisciplinary care to enhance well-being people IIMs.
