ABSTRACT
For the calibration purpose of thoron (220Rn) measurements, solid sources with constant 220Rn emanation are generally desired. In this study, Th4+ in thorium nitrate powder was successfully exchanged to surfaces sodium benzenesulphonate resins a bead diameter ∼0.5 mm by using ion-exchange method. Tests emanating from ion-exchanged resin indicated that rates were nearly constant, provided both air humidity and temperature controlled. As can be easily prepared various sizes activities sources, is considered as promising standard source for calibrations measurements.
