ABSTRACT
Nicotiana benthamiana is a widely used model plant species for the study of fundamental questions in molecular plant-microbe interactions and other areas biology. This popularity derives from its well-characterized susceptibility to diverse pathogens and, especially, amenability virus-induced gene silencing transient protein expression methods. Here, we report generation 63-fold coverage draft genome sequence N. availability on Sol Genomics Network both BLAST searches downloading local servers. The estimated size 3 Gb (gigabases). current assembly consists approximately 141,000 scaffolds, spanning 2.6 with 50% contained within scaffolds >89 kilobases. Of 16,000 unigenes available GenBank, >90% are represented assembly. usefulness was demonstrated by retrieval orthologs 24 immunity-associated genes including Ago2, Ago7, Bak1, Bik1, Crt1, Fls2, Pto, Prf, Rar1, mitogen-activated kinases. will also be useful comparative genomics Solanaceae family as shown here discovery microsynteny between tomato region encompassing Pto Prf genes.
