ABSTRACT
In 2006, 2007, and 2008, we sampled 257 isolates of Phytophthora capsici from vegetables at 22 sites in four regions New York, to determine variation mefenoxam resistance population genetic structure. Isolates were assayed for genotyped mating type five microsatellite loci. We found mefenoxam-resistant a high frequency the Capital District Long Island, but none western York or central York. Both A1 A2 types 12 sites, detected 126 distinct multilocus genotypes, only nine which more than one site. Significant differentiation (FST) was 98% pairwise comparisons between sites; approximately 24 16% attributed differences among respectively. These results indicate that P. is highly diverse, gene flow fields restricted. Therefore, each field needs be considered an independent population, efforts prevent movement inoculum need further emphasized spread this pathogen.
