Fusarium root rot caused by Fusarium solani f. sp. pisi is a major pea disease worldwide. This diagnostic guide characterizes disease symptoms on pea plants and signs of the pathogen produced on artificial media. Hosts, geographic distribution of the pathogen, and techniques effective in isolating, storing, and inoculating with the pathogen are described. Accepted for publication 8 September 2015.
