ABSTRACT
The indica rice cultivar Xiangzi 3150 (XZ3150) confers a high level of resistance to 95% the isolates Magnaporthe oryzae (the agent blast disease) collected in Hunan Province, China. To identify (R) gene(s) controlling this cultivar, we developed 286 F(9) recombinant inbred lines (RILs) from cross between XZ3150 and highly susceptible CO39. Inoculation RILs an F(2) population two cultivars with avirulent isolate 193-1-1 growth chamber indicated presence dominant R genes XZ3150. A linkage map 134 polymorphic simple sequence repeat single feature polymorphism markers was constructed genotype data RILs. Composite interval mapping (CIM) using results inoculation showed that major genes, designated Pi47 Pi48, were located RM206 RM224 on chromosome 11, RM5364 RM7102 12, respectively. Interestingly, CIM analysis four resistant components field revealed Pi48 also genetic factors responsible for DNA linked new identified study should be useful further fine mapping, gene cloning, marker-aided breeding blast-resistant cultivars.
