ABSTRACT
In our previous study, Prunus Mume Fruit Extract (PMFE) has laxative effects in animal model induced constipation by a low‐fibre diet. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether supplementation with PMFE could improve defecate function human subjects constipation. We conducted double‐blind, randomized, placebo‐controlled trial. Patients consumed (7.2 g) or placebo before consumption meal every morning and evening for 8 weeks. on colon transit time (CTT) defecation questionnaire were evaluated 28 patients compared the group (n=29). Among CTT, no significant differences right left CTT observed between two groups. However, decrease rectosigmoid total group. Moreover, decreased abdominal pain during increase refreshing feeling after evacuation at end study. No adverse reported any patients. Based results improved 2
