ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION: The evaluation of the thigh measurement and fetal adipose tissue accumulation has been used to supplement weight as a way evaluate muscular subcutaneous compartments. To factors associated with adiposity. METHODS: Cohort study 200 pregnant women followed in primary care units. adiposity was assessed by ultrasound, 28 36 weeks pregnancy, well anthropometry, sociodemographic obstetric aspects. results were analyzed using Epi-Info 7.0, 5% significance level. RESULTS: mean circumference (FTC) 11.2 cm±1.1 17±1.8 cm, at weeks, respectively (P<.0001). There positive correlation between FTC birth (r=0.60; 95% CI=0.49–0.69, P<.0001), maternal arm (r=0.15 CI=0.003–0.29, P<.05), waist (r=0.34; CI=0.19–0.48, P<.0001) skin fold (r=0.19 CI=0.04–0.37, P=.01), triglyceride (r=0.20; CI=0.04–0.35, P<.01) insulinemia (r=0.24; CI=0.07–0.39, P=.006). no fasting glucose (P=.13) total cholesterol fractions. CONCLUSION: nutritional status fat pregnancy are positively circumference, reflecting birth.
