ABSTRACT
The jugular foramen (JF) is a complex region, and tumors affecting this area can extend toward both intra extracranial spaces. Intracranially, project over posterior fossa to middle ear structures, cause venous outflow disturbances, either by structures invasion or compression. Extracranially, they involve the emerging segments of CN VII-XII, as well be close important neurovascular carotid vertebral arteries. most common tumor JF paraganglioma, however subset lesions comprises lower cranial nerves schwannomas. These usually enlarge compress surrounding presenting with mass effect symptoms upon diagnosis due slow-growing pattern, microsurgical resection times treatment choice. Extensive laboratory training essential handle surgical approaches properly.
