ABSTRACT
Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate usage and perceptions home blood pressure monitoring (HBPM) among Korean physicians provide a reference for understanding how increase HBPM in Korea. Design Method: conducted between February 1 March 3, 2016. 331 cardiologists general practitioners (±5.24%p, 95% credibility) 16 metropolitan areas Korea were interviewed using Computer-Aided Web Interviews. Interview topics included 3 questions on awareness HBPM, 5 behavior, barriers tasks the adoption usage. (Chronbach's alpha = 0.784) Results: For 90% recognized importance yet only 29% prioritized new hypertension diagnosis. 55% also stated it difficult them recommend 6.6% fully explained protocols during patient visits. Additionally, 50% recommended measuring at any location, including public places. In terms accuracy, mercury, aneroid automated devices, believed devices least accurate. 32% trusted accuracy 35% ability patients perform accurately. usage, 92% reported having no access installation or human resources education 59% felt there need HBPM. Conclusions: order use Korea, solutions suitable Korea's circumstances be enacted. Awareness must raised patients, effective programs developed.
